Welcome
“I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly!” – John 10:10
Welcome to World Travel 777, a place of fun and adventure where Julia and I share our experiences with YOU as we travel around the world as ambassadors for Jesus. Traveling is “in our blood” so to speak. We both grew up in families who traveled frequently internationally.
I was born in Washington state and then moved to Italy from ages 1-5. We had a live-in Italian nanny (Rosa) for more than three years who was like a second mom to me. I attended Italian schools. We then moved to Charlottesville VA for four years, Kansas for one year, and then Wisconsin for 1 year, before moving to Germany for four years (ages 11-15). So by the time I was 15 I had lived more than 8 years in Europe.
I didn’t go back to Europe again for 26 years until God jerked me away from my full-time anesthesia job at at Culpeper Hospital. By His grace and mercy, the LORD set me free from more than 15 years of bondage with a medical beeper leash. There were many times I didn’t experience the outdoors during the light of day for 12-day stretches because of my work schedule.
Julia was born in Geneva Switzerland, the city of peace. From there, her family moved to Paris, the city of love. While growing up, she lived in three different countries in Africa, the continent of need. Her parents were both full-blooded Koreans, from the Orient, the land of wisdom. String those together and what do you have? I believe Julia is destined to bring the peace, love, and wisdom of God to people in need throughout the world.
For about a decade, my father, Darrell Peck, has maintained a detailed travel diary online with lots of photos. My parent’s passion to travel and leave a legacy by sharing their stories with the world played an important part in the birth of this blog. While journaling in Utah in September 2009, the LORD told me to reserve worldtravel777.com to start my own travel blog.
So what? What difference does this make to you?
Lots, hopefully, but that ultimately depends on you.
Our travel stories and blog are meant to…
- inspire you to reach out and make a positive difference in the world
- let you experience vicariously the places we go
- encourage you to travel more yourself
- inform you about good destinations to visit along with lodging, car rentals, restaurants, fun things to do, and much more
- encourage you to step out in faith to experience the abundant life that Jesus promises
- touch your heart and inspire you to meet the needs of desperate people around the world
Ok, let the adventure begin!
